About Grain Trading Academy
Kluis Grain Trading Academy is a 13-class program over six weeks, and combines in-person sessions and webinars with Al Kluis and his team. The classes will teach you how to make better marketing decisions for your farm.
With three levels, there are classes for everyone. Upon completion, you’ll be more confident in your grain marketing decisions.
Al Kluis developed Kluis Grain Trading Academy after spending over 40 years trading commodities and advising farmers. He is the managing director of Kluis Commodity Advisors in Wayzata, Minnesota, and writes the “Your Profit” column for the Successful Farming magazine.
A Tailored Curriculum
Our three course levels include Marketing Plans, Futures and Options, and Charting.
INTRODUCTORY MARKETING
Introductory Marketing is designed to teach basic trading and risk management concepts to farmers, Ag lenders and other participants who need to further their understanding of basic marketing concepts.
INTERMEDIATE MARKETING
Intermediate Marketing is designed to teach students important trading concepts and advanced analysis methods to increase current marketing knowledge and assist in making more informed decisions.
ADVANCED MARKETING
Advanced Marketing is designed to teach students to use charting and options to anticipate trend changes and position their farm to increase overall profits.
Our Instructors
Al Kluis
Al Kluis developed Kluis Grain Trading Academy after spending over 40 years trading commodities and advising farmers. He is the managing director of Kluis Commodity Advisors in Wayzata, Minnesota, and writes the “Your Profit” column for the Successful Farming magazine.
Corey Redfield
Corey Redfield is a commodities trader specializing in several agricultural commodities. Over the last 30 years, Corey has worked with several major investment firms. Corey has taught financial classes at Vanderbilt University and the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
Cory Bratland
Cory Bratland is a Chief Grain Strategist for Kluis Commodity Advisors. He formerly worked at Cargill, Inc. as a Grain Trader and has taught seminars and classes for KluisU since 2012.

*Discounted rate available for additional farm members.
Tuition includes two meals on both Saturday in-person sessions as well as class materials. KluisU is a tax deductible business expense.
